Re: Running in the rain
Beautiful shots! The rain, the interior lighting, and the open carriage doors all make for a very atmospheric set of images. One almost feels as if one could climb aboard and ride along!

Re: Running in the rain
Thanks for the comments. I built my end-to-end railway at worktop height around the perimeter of my back garden, rising to shoulder height at the summit.
This allows me to take photos as though I'm standing on the station platforms; I use an iPhone 7 for photos and videos.
I scratch-built my carriages from steel with opening doors to give me something to do when a train stops at a station!

Love the coaches - and the added rivets on your "Millie".

Love the illuminated coaches sitting with their doors open, very atmospheric I can imagine sitting inside watching the condensation roll down the windows.
A steam propelled life-style.

Sunny days are nice, but revisiting this thread is making me want a rainy week - or two..

Re: Running in the rain
And for a look at running in the rain downunder
My Roundhouse Davenport appears briefly on its first outing before its receiver gave up the ghost - and while I was in Ray's workshop trying to sort out the problem my Mallet and rolling stock got a good run by others!
Roundhouse promptly replaced the Fosworks receiver and the Davenport is a solid performer now - pulling this train with ease:

The day at Ray's was definitely wetter than my last visit to the Eltham South Electric Tramway.........

Tiny little things like those working marker lights on the W class, (better yet, they're not in that horrible blinding blue-white colour) really make a difference. Perfect weather to see them, too.
