I have built a little lean to for gellert's farm on my line (I know it is on the other side of the country!) and would like to know if several flatterned out bean cans (Heinze of cource!) will do the trick layed over lapping with the corrigations running down. If so how do I cut and fix the bean can panels?
The railway which people forgot

Bean Can roof
The trick is to buy the old style can...one that a tin opener can work at either end rather than the modern tin with rounded bottom!
Do not cut the lid off as you normally would but cut from the side taking the rim and lid away at either end...remember to empty out the contents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then heavy sissors cut the tin into sections or tin snips
the other way is to cut beer cans (steel and alu...in fact Alu is thinner and easier to work) and put through a paper crimper
Will try to do some photos for you
