Something going on with Mamod?

I was just watching a YouTube video of someone's garden railway when I scrolled down to the description and saw "just heard mamod closed, how sad" or something along those lines. I checked the Mamod Wikipedia Page, which cryptically stated "End= 2024" and proceeded not to elaborate. I then visited the official Mamod website, which redirected me to a new website, "mamodspares.com", where there is a 20% discount and many products seem to be sold out? I have no clue what is going on, is there anyone who can explain to me or is this some opaque business maneuver.
Works in G scale, curious about SM32. Profiles on IRM and RMWeb as well, under same username, check them out.
Also, anyone interested in Irish (specifically 3ft) lines, I'm no expert but I can try help.
