The North Western Fells Railway.

Construction, sort of, has finally begun on my new garden railway.

I brought a load of track from the guy who'd bought the hornby set at the local auction. I think it's from tenmille, and is wooden sleepered. There's about 18 yards of useable track, plus 2 point's, all for under £75.

The previous owner made them as double track sections, possibly for the hornby trains. I've been busy cutting them down into single track sections for future use.

I'll report back when more progress has been made.

Good luck with your new line - be aware that the chairs sometimes pop out of the sleepers (particularly if they're old) so keep a close eye on them - they can cause distinctly "odd" running if they pop out and the track goes out of gauge or level.
