A note from Anne (FWLR)
I have been aware of Rod's absence on the Forum for a while and today I received an email from Anne to say he has been admitted to hospital for complete rest due to his heart condition. Rod has made no secret of his ailment and Anne has agreed I can let everyone know of the current situation.
I'm sure he would pleased to know we are thinking of him and hope he recovers quickly and can return home soon.

Thanks for the update Peter. I hope he is feeling better soon, this place isn't quite the same without his cheery and encouraging presence.
Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
I was thinking we hadn't heard much from Rod lately...
Thanks for letting us know Peter, and do pass on our best wishes if you get the chance.

I know sometimes Anne allows him to access the forum when he's laid up so, if you're reading this, Rod, I hope you're soon back on your feet.

Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
The latest update from Anne is that Rod is expected to leave hospital next week if he continues his response to treatment. She thanks everyone for your best wishes for Rod's recovery, but he will be strictly limited for computer time at home, so we might get short messages when he feels able. He needs rest and perhaps simple kit projects to help keep his mind occupied after the recent passing of his brother, which he mentioned had effected him so badly.
I thank you all for your messages to Rod too.

Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
Glad Rod is on the road to recovery, my best wishes to him to. They should prescribe garden railway kits for him, I am sure they will be beneficial! Seriously, all the best for full return to health as soon as possible.
Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
It's good news that Rod has been admitted to the hospital for complete rest. It's important to take care of one's health, and it sounds like Rod is doing the right thing by taking some time off to recover.
I'm sure Rod would be grateful to know that the Forum members are thinking of him and wishing him a speedy recovery. Please keep us updated on his progress. Good luck!

Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
Rod is due to return home tomorrow, Tuesday 21st. with strict orders to rest for about 6 weeks. He will have limited access to the Forum, strictly monitored by Anne, so I'm sure he will be most grateful for all your messages of support. Thank you all.

Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
How do I start to say how much I am so appreciative of all of your support, it is heart warming to say the least. I have missed the forum and as you all know the banter and general warm welcome we all get from members is far better than all the rest of the forums I have had dealings with. This is the best forum on the internet and I will always stand by that.
Yes the rest in hospital was good, but the loss of my oldest brother and also losing two of my younger sisters hit me hard and my heart just couldn't handle it. My brother was a great inspiration for me, his knowledge on railways and all things associated with it helped me tremendously, I think most members know that I didn't have any knowledge until I had my first heart attack some years ago.
I have to go now but I will keep up with things on the forum, but I won't be able to respond that much, so please don't think I am being negative with you, I just won't be allowed to spend that much time on here, I have been on too long now writing this.
Anne is keeping her eye on me I can tell you
Keep on with things guys and I will be back with some builds again, which will be a little van that I got sent in the post just recently Peter....

Good to hear from you Rod, another step forward with the recovery process. Just do what Anne tells you and be a good boy now.

Re: A note from Anne (FWLR)
Welcome back.
After my open heart surgery I found that a morning peruse of the forum to see what others are up to was therapeutic.
Take its easy and work your way back slowly.
I know all about a wife keeping an eye on me 18 months and counting under supervision, I jokingly refer to her as the handbrake; any time I get carried away on goes the handbrake to keep me on the straight and narrow
