+1 for that, and there is very often someone in there demonstrating techniques.andymctractor wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:43 am.
Also (sorry to go on again) the staff in those Games Workshops are very open to all sorts of advice on techniques and hints at getting the best use out of their stuff. They don't role their eyes when you tell them you do trains.

Re: Crowfoot Light Railway 2020 spring clean in progress
The Kippo models kit that I laid out in an earlier post as a station building has now been finished. The closure of model shops had prevented me from obtaining a suitable paint to finish off the windows. Note also my use of a shrub/tree growing at the rear which was made using fairly well known methods with twisted wire and mainly US and German scenic products. This is a part of indoor modelling that I miss now I’m in the garden. Note that I seal this scenic work with matt acrylic varnish spray. This allows the models some weather resistance, which is fine as I don’t leave most of my scenic stuff out except in very nice weather.
I’ve used the shrub/tree idea to put a tree on the foliage side of another Kippo model, the water tower. As usual I’ve Made my own adaptations to the kit. I’m using a new iPAD PRO for the first time so, fingers crossed that text and photos look as I planned.

The Kippo models look great and you have finished the paintwork well Andy. For model paint supply I have used 'Goblin Gaming Limited', on-line who sell the range of 'Games Workshop' acrylics, and many others, at the same price as in the shops, postage is additional, but getting to the shops isn't free!

Those of you who have been to one of our past open days will know of our lovely golden retriever ‘matelot’. Unfortunately he died on 19th May. In his memory I am renaming ‘Seqoia Falls’ as ‘Matelots Halt’ as this is the closest station on the CLR to where his ashes are buried. Below I’ve gone over the top with a station name board.

Re: Crowfoot Light Railway 2020 spring clean in progress
Thanks for that but my problem was I’d painted the window frames with the last of the yellow paint I had. I thought they were fully dry and stowed them but they weren’t fully set. Pulling them apart damaged them and I couldn’t remember exactly what colour/range I’d used. I needed to do a side by side comparison. I found an exact match from the Revel acrylics which was not what I’d used initially. I’m rattling on again.Peter Butler wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 5:40 pm The Kippo models look great and you have finished the paintwork well Andy. Andy, I'm so sorry to hear of Matelot's demise, I have been there and it is a terrible loss to suffer, a dear friend and family member no longer there.

Sorry to hear about Matelot, Andy, but that's a lovely tribute.

Also sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, and as Philip has said, a wonderful tribute.

An unfortunate loss. That's way I don't have a dog anymore, they give so much love to you and it's very hard on the heart when they leave.
Good job on the modelling Andy. And the tribute is a nice touch.
