They’re brass etches from grs, save a lot of time over trying to scratch build something and from what I recall they weren’t expensive

A beautifully finished model. Plenty of good detail. Some impressive metal working skills in evidence.

Thanks very much, metal work comes fairly naturally to me, wood, plastic or electrics on the other hand are a completely different story!

Managed to get a bit of time in the shed over the weekend, ended up with some steps and some vac pipes. Pipes are brandbright, the ones that come with the spring, but shortened and with some heatshrink over the stretched out spring as I buggered up the spring trying to remove it for painting!

Philpy asked about louvre panels.
Plastic 3D printed versions are available from SLR models.

Usual restrictions in present situation.

Thread is now up to date with the current state of play on the loco so updates will slow down a bit! Raised the scrap box today for bits to make up some air tanks and pipework

All done with the air tanks, just getting the lamp up and running to go now. Right now it seems like a better idea to sit in the sun with a beer and watch trains go past though!

And up the annoyingly unavoidably steep gradient on my little line

Very nice, the sound is very industrial, as for the steep gradient, didn't really notice it.

Not only looks good, it sounds good too. What sound unit are you using?

It’s the 30:1 12-24v one, running on 12v. Pretty cheap and seems reliable so far apart from some bolts coming loose while bedding in.

It’s a mls light diesel sound card with a 50mm speaker mounted in the rear section via an old aerosol lid sealed with silicone.

Got distracted by another project briefly but finally got round to wiring in the led for the lamp and making a lense, I think she’s finished for now!

Love it. The warm white headlight and weathering really tie it all together.
