Well, planning has given the go ahead, so the new line to Maenporth is under construction.....

I didn't build them steps, my dad got t'builders in to do that cus He didn't want me making them more railway biased!!!

Builder said he'd got some old sleepers, so we got them off him cheep and I'm using them as a track bed - earth will be embanked up to them (also to hold them in position).

Up towards the lake.

looks good already, just be wary of getting the levels of the sleepers right, though it looks to me like you have
like Pauly, I would like to see some sort of trackplan for the extension

Yeah I made sure the sleepers were flush. I will try do a simple computer sketch in a little while.

oh how I envy you! a raised railway and permission for extensions!

and a pond, I wanted to put a small pond in but me parents dont trust me with nothing and say it wouldnt be maintained so havent been allowed too

My existing pond aint maintained

Let it go natural so it looks like a real lake lol! Although I am contemplating some pond plants. The next pond is going to be quite large, enough space for a small steam boat

and a waterfall to top it off.

yeah why not lol! I've got a marine engine for one, so some day I'll build one, but at the moment I've got a 2 foot long Fairey Huntsman to restore with a Enya glow engine in it lol.

Not decided on that yet. I'll probably cement up to the edges then cut some wood to fit inbetween the rails. There's certainly going to be a "Beware of the Trains" sign on the fence!

Todays progress...

My dad managed to borrow a minidigger off the builders, so I took it down the back of the garden and dug this:

My pond..... the trackbed will be raised at the back of the back "wall" of the pond so it will be like 2 "steps" down.

But after the torrential rain we've had recently, it made rather a mess of the lawn! It even got stuck trying to go up the hill! So tomorrow I will have to get the garden tractor with a roller to fix dad's grass lol

Iv just got back from Sunderland where I bought 2 steam boats

Arrow (£130)

Spring queen (£30 incuding steam motor and boiler)

modified meccano boiler and motor

canopy

Im going to put a vertical boiler in (possibly a cheap wilesco 1) because thats what it originally or was intended to have

side by side
