I've fallen for three April Fools this year, which is annoying as I haven't fallen for any for some years now. But they all seemed plausible enough...

(For the record, they were The RM's stories about a split-box deltic and proposed A1 liveries, and the Telegraph's story about harnessing salmon for electricity generation.)

I think youtube's done the best one so far, they've turned everything upside down!!! There is some advice on how best to view the new layout, the reason for it being upside down is given as "modern computer moniters work better upside down". What you need to look out for is the small "I prefer the old layout button"
Our local paper also had a good one, for a special system for catching dog fouling on Morecambe promanade. A photo showed a prototype for the special sensors to be used-they looked very much like photoshopped lego bricks...
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Bristol Evening Post had a classic. A rare beetle, long thought extinct, and vital to Darwin's original work, has been found on Clifton Downs. These will therefore be closed to the public for a year, and a chain link fence erected.

Had me going for three paragraphs :(

Good timing, as well, with the bicentenary of Darwin's birth...
