I've just found this, my apologies if it is old news.

What a great project ! I certainly hope they succeed. However I doubt they will do it in the proposed 3 years.
I am very tempted to try to find the money for a membership, but having just discovered that I paid way too little tax last year, I think I will be getting a tax bill for £3,500 in a months of so's time  Of course I could sell a loco.....uhmmmm. :(

Does anyone here know how much the "Lyd" project has cost. I hear it is nearing completion.
John.

It certainly looks very worthwhile. I would urge anyone who hasn't visited the L&B to do so; if you've done it once, you won't need urging to go back.

Even on the short (-ish) length at Woody Bay, the ride and the views are delightful, and the staff very welcoming.

LYD is still £35k short, however it should be steaming next year and you'll certainly see major progress this year, the machine shop are already working on it.
