Removing a spring from an Acoms Technisport transmitter

Just a few tips on this:

1) The spring is held onto the reversing lever in the handset by a notch AND glue. This is also the same for the other end of the spring.

2) When putting the handset back together, the leads to the battery terminals on one half can get trapped between the two halves. Poke them in with a piece of strip and the transmitter will squeeze them into an allocated gap.

Also the aerial fits into two ledges. So if it is loose upon reassembly they aren't located properly.

I took this pic when removing the spring of the steeringwheel on the TX supplied with Criccieth Castle back in January.
Acoms Technisport 2.4Ghz

Desolder the 3 spots within the red-circle, center of pic

as the main circuitboard needs to be removed to gain acces to the spring. The lever and spring of the trottle are in the bottom of the pic. Exactly the same are fitted to the steeringwheel. Mark the center of the wheel on the outside of the casing so the adjustable resistor is put back in the same setting as it was removed.

That's odd, the wheel on my tx doesn't have a spring! Only the reverser did

On CC the wheel controls speed and direction so Roundhouse probably thinks the wheel needs centering to keep the loco on hold.
