Slaters transfer application??

Hi,
Anyone used Slaters transfers? We're trying to understand the transfer instructions but it doesn't make much sense!

They used to be of the water slide type. Cut out, soak and then apply using tweezers when they lift of the backing. Varnish if you feel the need.

I don't know if they have changed recently

They're quite unusual in application, you require meths instead of water and "pressing" the transfer down on the surface and peal the top away. Also, each character is separate, so good luck with the long characters!
