The wood needs to be rubbed down with a wire brush so that it is rough and absorbs the solution in the grain.Soar Valley Light:120325 wrote:Very realistic indeed! What finish did you use to get the weathered effect?

Then, get yourself a plastic tub and fill it with white vinegar and some wire wool and leave overnight. ย In the morning, apply the solution with a brush (not too much though as the water will bow the wood). ย I normally do a few coats and use a fan heater to speed up drying time.
I also use crushed coal/charcoal and rub it in with my fingers on some planks.
It's really easy to do and I quite enjoy it!
