Despite the new extension, the Morgan locomotive company is still busy making engines.
First up are 2 Garratts; more grown up than dads previous "Baby" Garratts!
Both are based on the Mayumbe Class C and E Garratt locomotives; although one has been "Anglised" with the addition of a full cab and a capped chimney. They're replicas of the original Morgan Mayumbe geared Garratt "Dreadnought" seen here:

The new Garratts will follow the original class C/E more closely with detail differences (such as the huge sandboxes) and will feature a larger geared motor with PPS cylinders instead of an SVS motor. Both chassis will be powered via cardan shafts and bevel gears.
Dad hopes to sell these 2. Work is slowing due to the extension work going on...
Meanwhile:
Moel Tryfan is near finished and has been regularly running during the Gloucester groups running evenings on Wednesday evenings. The locomotive needs only small chassis details (such as the cylinder ends) and finishing off with brake pipes ect. We're currently focusing on the 2 Garratts as of present so that the 3 locomotives can be painted together. The colour? Red!
Pictures of Moel Tryfan running can be found on it's own page on this forum.
3 Morgans: 2 Garratts and a Fairlie
Glad you like them Jack!
Dads gradually experimenting with the Garratt design to produce a model with good running characteristics and the best reliability. His next Garratt will follow the Mayumbe class E much more closely. I'm currently drawing many of the high tolerance components (such as the frames) into CAD for eventual laser cutting.
He's also looking at a way to modify the Baby Garratt to be able to have an SVS motor powering both bogies...
It's early days yet BUT he hopes to produce these 2 designs commercially on a strictly limited supply. The SVS motors will not be available until next year so he has to wait until then!
