laalratty's Autum break
laalratty's Autum break
I'm off to Wales this weekend, primerily to see riveresk and beat her boyfriend at PS1 games, but I am also calling in at the Seibiant Hill railway on Monday with Gwydion and some coaches. Will post pics when I get back, including any interesting ones i may get of 12 inch/foot railways
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

I'm fun having so far, apart from the long detours to avoid floodwater today comming back from Fairbourne (as well as the detour up a very narrow country lane on the way to Fairbourne, with the lane being right next to a fast flowing ravine!!!!)

Well im back now, so here are some pics of my travels
Welshpool and Llanfair railway, The Earl seen at Sylvaen halt
At the Fairbourne railway I was surprised to see Beddgelert in service, the engine is supposed to be in for overhaul and it showed when the driver needed to bash the brake cylinder with his shovel to get the brakes off! (due to a sheared lubricater pipe)
Arriving at Fairbourne
I also got a full shed tour of this line, seeing the newly rebuilt frames of their model of Russel, as well as the ex tender body of Count Louis, an engine which ran at Fairbourne when the line was 15 inch guage (Count Louis has had a new tender for its recent rebuild)
And finally...
Here is riveresk being truly engrossed and captivated by this months Garden rail!!!

Heh, I was busy reading LMSJool's article. Though there were some other bits in as well - that bit about the Ffesty bug boxes for example.

I like to think that I add a touch of class to the preceedings. Though I'm actually wearing three layers there because autumn is upon us (officially ). And I get cold, hence the blue shirt. I can do scruffy as well as the next person.
