Is this the same as on Roundhouse 0-4-0 locos? If not and if someone has one could they measure the distance between the axles?

My Charles is 80mm or 3" 1/4 if its the same as Charles which I think it is.

Thanks, I am sure they are the same.

RH 0-6-0 chassis has the front/back axles at just over 90mm apart so I was wondering if you could get away with removing the middle axle and having a large 0-4-0 looking loco without it looking silly

The earliest Lady Annes and Dylans were all 0-4-0s, and it was only later that the 0-6-0 version appeared. The early self-build kits allowed the centre axle to be omitted if desired. The overall wheelbase for both wheel arrangements was identical.

Converting an 0-6-0 to an 0-4-0 will work mechanically. What you do about the holes in the frames and the coupling rods would seem to be the only issue.
