A final coat of Satin lacquer (except the smoke-boxes) will seal the lining and give a lovely overall sheen to the loco. You must feel so proud of the work you have put into it, top marks.

Yup, I was thinking a nice satin finish too (except the smoke boxes)

To be honest, I am as pleased as punch with it and seeing it now makes all those weeks of CAD work morph into something real that I seriously like and I am very pleased with how it's turned out. I guess the CAD work is just another side to creations that all of us make in one form or another.

Just got to do mine now and then make the boilers for a "Super Fairlie" :D

That is an amazing job, well done. The lining is superbly done and as I expected, it lifts a good model to another level.

I did not do the lining, a good friend of mine did and he has way more patience than me  I do agree though, the lining has turned a good model into an even better looking model :D

He also put on some coal bunkers for me which I didn't know he was going to do so that was a very pleasant surprise.

Just some name plates and some couplings to go and I think I will be happy calling it complete for my purposes.
Absolutely delightful Steve. He's a handy friend to have :thumbright:

He is indeed, I don't have many friends, but the ones I have are indeed true friends

Little bit of an update. Some temporary name plates on, being replaced with slightly smaller ones at some point soon.

Managed to get a video of it just about flat out over points and into a reverse curve as someone asked what it was like on bends. Sorry I have still not cleaned the entire track yet, but this gives you a good idea of how it performs.

Thanks Peter.

I take that as a huge compliment coming from you as I have seen the quality of what you produce and I am amazed by it

Well all finished for now apart from adding Accucraft chopper couplings.

Thanks for watching and your encouraging comments on this build, growing from an idea into a working electric loco. It's been challenging but fun.
