Hi gents,
As some of you may know my occupation is in metal Additive Manufacturing applications. I've been paying attention to this sub-forum and enjoy the content you're creating.
Obviously a metal machine will not be available for domestic use for some time but there are some companies around that will print in metal as long as you have a .stl file.
If you're thinking of designing for metal printing please don't hesitate to ask for advice; contrary to popular belief metal printing is very unforgiving and slight variations in design can lead to success or failure...

Re: Metal printing - ask here for advice
Thanks Jason. Not something I currently have a need for but it's useful to know there is help available.

Same as Philip
Not something I require right now, but certainly something to bare in mind for future use. Strangely enough, last night I was thinking, og, I could use my CAD design and give the 2D file to a friend who has a CNC laser wood cutter and get him to do coach sides etc for me, but this brings on a whole new aspect, like cutting loco side plates etc.
Thank you, great post.
