Dec 2022 Photo Gallery - Enter now ONE WEEK LEFT

Post by philipy » Tue Sep 20, 2022 9:38 pm

Ok folks, I've decided that the theme for this next Gallery is:

"Double Headed"
Any train, passenger or freight, in any appropriate situation being hauled by two loco's. Will also allow a normal train with a Banker attached at the rear.

Rules as usual and closing date for entry will be 1st December 2022.

Not quite what I had in mind but I see absolutely no reason why it isn't a worthy 'think outside the box' entrant!

I suppose it's more of a double-head-and-tailer ..... but wonderful all the same!

Peter, is it a trick of the camera, or are both ends different? - The two cabs / bonnets appear different lengths.

Phil, both ends are identical in length, they originate from 1970's, Japanese made, model car radios, which I have used several times to make railbus models....

My pictures all end up looking the same – but anyway, here’s another one.

Semi-scale BR: Double-headed Bulleids
His initial proposals for replacing the Southern fleet of ancient tank engines. Didn’t happen, of course.

[Below] I like this angle from the other side too – but not the fence in the background.
You’ll notice Eddie Howe leaning out of the leading locomotive.

I don’t have much in the way of double heading action in my saved photos and the weather isn’t really conducive to getting the trains out for a play just now. However I will enter this still from a video I made a couple of summers ago.

I'm afraid I am devoid of any double header photos, but look forward to voting on the entries received. Some lovely images so far!

I'll throw a debut entry in this time around, though it's not of the usual quality I see here. Most will recognise these locos as being twenty years apart in design. "With some help from my friends:"
