Quarterly Garden Railway Gallery, December 2019 -TWO DAYS LEFT!

Post by philipy » Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:38 am

The theme for this quarter is " Freight Train, Freight Train (going so fast)..."

Whether it is moving or not ( in a still picture???) is up to you.

Rules as before, and I am not allowed to enter.

Closing date for entries will be 10th December. NOTE that this is a few days sooner than usual to give a bit more time for voting before Christmas.

So, lets be having your best ideas either taken specially for this Gallery or something you've already got on file.

As I will be putting my village into hibernation soon, this is the last opportunity to take this picture....
So here is..... 'Freight train, freight train, not going very fast at all!'

Nice picture!

I checked the weather forecast on the way to work this morning and the prospects seem good for a run at the weekend, so if that all works out I'll see if I can get a picture...

Cheers,

Andrew.

The big blue Hunter-Garratt is bringing a long train down the 1:25, while diesel #13 brings a short Goods into Sandstone from Ti-tree.

C'mon folks..... only 3 weeks left to enter and only 3 entries so far?

The closing date for this quarter is 10th Dec and although the UK weather hasn't been conducive to playing trains outside recently, surely some of you must have pictures stashed away on computers, phones, etc?

Hello!

My plans to get out in the garden, run a goods train, and take a few photos haven't really worked, but I thought I'd dig out an oldie for the competition. Apologies, you've seen it before, and the train's not going very fast at all, but I like it!

All the best,

Andrew.

Oops, sorry! Done now! I'd added three so my daughter could help me choose, then thought I'd deleted the other two - obviously not!

Cheers,

Andrew.

Our garden is way too untidy, wet and miserable to photograph right now, so here’s another archive snap, of a GWR-inspired locomotive, built on a Bachmann ‘James’ motorblock and certainly not going fast.

It still needed weight added and serious track cleaning, to stop slipping, sticking and juddering, as I wrote in my post (with an alternative frame from the same sequence) at the time. I was lucky with the light and shade though.
