Quarterly Garden Railway Gallery, September 2019 - The Winner is...

Post by philipy » Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:26 am

Entries for this Quarter's Gallery have been extremely varied, which is what I think Rik intended. Quite how to pick a favourite I'm not entirely sure, personally!
Anyway, just to remind you of what the theme was and Rik's thoughts:

Theme: "ON TRACK"

He says, "It can be interpreted in several different ways - pictures of trackwork eg shots of track winding through the garden, pictures of bridges, level crossings, etc, track level shots of locos or stock, pictures of scheduled trains passing by, pictures of trains departing on time, or even a picture of a Caterpillar tractor....."

So, again, one vote per member, whether or not you entered, so please will everyone vote. You can change your vote at any time up to close.

Closing date for votes is 30th September .

Entries are below in order of submission.

...and the winner is....Um...me!

Seriously, thanks to all who voted for me and commiserations to all the other entrants.

I think Rik's idea to propose a very widely interpretable theme certainly produced the intended result, but made choosing extremely difficult.

Anyway, since I won and the next theme is down to me, it will be, in the words of the song:

"Freight train, freight train ( going so fast)..."

I'll put the entry page up shortly, but in the meanwhile, either get your thinking caps on to compose a perfect shot or else trawl through your stocks of photos of your line for something suitable - BTW, the freight train doesn't actually have to be going fast!
