Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
The winner of the first (March 2019) Garden Railway Gallery (gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=12287) is....
A dead heat between steamgeorge and -steves- (You couldn't make it up!). Congratulations to both of you. This gives us a bit of a quandry since the winner should pick the next theme. I think the fairest option is to ask both of you to suggest a theme and PM it to me ( don't post on the board) by next Saturday, and then possibly we can have a limited duration mini-poll to decide which one to use.
Congrats again to both of you and I look forward to receiving 2 scintillating suggestions ( polite please!)!

Do you think you could post the winning pix here? Then this thread will expand showing the winning pictures as they appear each time.

His winning picture was:
The brewery in location
Congratulations to Rik and commiserations to everyone else who entered.
Rik, May I have your proposed theme for the September Gallery within the next 2 weeks please.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
Wow! Thanks folks - especially to the 13 who voted for my picture. The competition was stiff - I felt the second place pic could easily have been a worthy winner as could any of the others.
How about this for the title of the next competition - "On Track"
It can be interpreted in several different ways - pictures of trackwork eg shots of track winding through the garden, pictures of bridges level crossings etc, track level shots of locos or stock, pictures of scheduled trains passing by, pictures of trains departing on time, or even a picture of a Caterpillar tractor.....

Congratulations Rik, a superb picture and worthy winner. You had my vote and at least four of Rod's too!
Have the other names/votes now been deleted, I can't see the final scores?

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
The final scores are still visible in the June thread, a close race with the brewery beating cuttle brook by just 1 vote - both very fine photos!Peter Butler wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:47 am Congratulations Rik, a superb picture and worthy winner. You had my vote and at least four of Rod's too!

A worthy winner. Congratulations.
So, you have to decide on the theme for the next round.
Rik
PS Oops, just seen you've done exactly that.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
Theme for the March 2020 would be:
«Winter on the Garden Railway»
There is a few weeks left of the winter. Hopefully there be some white days before end of March 2020.
And if not - you may have some pictures taken in previous winters.
