I couldn't vote in the end, far too many shots I liked.

Well I didn't expect that! Not a bad haul of members voting either, even though with an even spread. I'll pm you Philip

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
Sorry, chaps but I'm afraid that I have to declare myself the winner this quarter, with "
5 - "Cuttle Brook Halt" - train approaching at last! " When I've managed to think up a theme for the next one, I'll drop myself a PM and post the result.

I can't fault that as a winning picture. The competition was strong and well supported so the choices made difficult. Congratulations Philip, lovely picture.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
I agree. There are so many elements which contribute to the success of this picture. The lighting, the overgrown track, the track curving out of sight, the hint of a loco just appearing, the single passenger and that slight dip in the track.Peter Butler wrote: βFri Sep 16, 2022 6:25 pm I can't fault that as a winning picture. Great picture!
Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
I'm very behind here (been taking children to Uni, etc etc), but very pleased to find this was the winning picture as part of my catching up - congratulations!

...and the winner of the December 2022 gallery is Andrew with "A helping hand".
Well done Andrew. Now you have the dubious pleasure of thinking up the next theme!
PM me before the end of the month please.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
After a last minute flurry of votes ( thanks guys) the March 2023 Gallery winner is... a dead heat between BWLR and myself
Since I've won a couple of times before, I'll leave it to BWLR to rack his brains for the next theme If you could let me have it by the end of the month please Peter?

Both worthy winners. But it was a tricky choose this time. The standard was very high.
Well done to all those who contributed.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread
A very high standard of entries this time and I think reflected by the votes being spread out amongst all the photos. Iβll have a think about a theme for the next comp.

...and the winner of the June 2023 Gallery is........... "Spring in West Cornwall" by SteamGeorge. A lovely picture and a clear winner by an unusually high margin, so very well done. In some ways that's a pity because there were some other really lovely shots, but this one obviously struck a particular chord with the voters.
Anyway, all we need now is your theme for the next gallery, please George.
PS. Again my apologies for the delay in announcing the winner.
