Mamod Brunel "cabside" length

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

Mamod Brunel "cabside" length

Post by CSL » Fri Jul 21, 2017 3:37 pm

Bit of a random question this, but I'm thinking of ordering a number of loco nameplate pairs including one pair that I hope one day might be used on a Brunel, but before that on something rather more modest.

So I'm curious to know the maximum length of nameplate that could be mounted on an as-new Brunel's sidewalls leaving a bit of green at either end.

Could someone kind with such a model and a ruler help me out...?

My Brunel is a Mark I Version II. Do not think the cab sides have changed on the Mark III but you never know with Mamod's constant improvement policy.

There is about 0.2mm difference between each end.
