Can you help me please?
I need to remove the forward/ reverse block (to find out why there is no steam to one cylinder) from an old Mamod SL1 and I'd like to know the favoured method for an old engine.
Any advice would be welcome.

Mamod SL1 / MSS Loco Changing Reverser Block
Half the people are below average.
It possible to do by the method Jim has mentioned but I usually end up taking the body off the chassis.
However, I would leave the reversing block where it is and take the cylinders off, that way you can see all the passage ways and look through the reversing valve. If it hasn't been run for a long time its possible that old oil has set in the passages.
