Every railway needs a Mamod!

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

Every railway needs a Mamod!

Post by artfull dodger » Mon Jan 30, 2017 8:04 pm

Been kind of missing my Mamod, but I need the $$ from the whole set finance my Merlin Mayflower. Now that I have two Merlins(Mayfower and a Major), I decided to watch for a Mamod on my side of the pond for a decent price. Found this one on ebay today with a bin price I could afford. So, I pulled the trigger. Its set for O gauge, so once I get funds for upgrades, I will get the stuff to regauge to 45mm and set aside the 32mm stuff for the future when I change my railway over. I just love the size of the Mamod. Its a hair smaller than my Mayflower, has a nice British quarry look and are so much fun to tinker with. I have loads of Sterno that my grandmother kept here to fire with. Here is a pic from the auction. A bit of polishing needed! Mike
