Miniature trees for the garden

Post by philipy » Sun Dec 04, 2011 12:11 pm

In case anyone is interested, our local Tesco ( Banbury) is selling small conifers as decorations £3 for the small ones ( 8" high) and £10 for the larger ones(15" high) and that also includes 8white LEDs!
They don't say what species they are so no idea how big they will grow or how fast, but at those prices you can afford to throw them away after a couple of years if they get too big! They do look as though they have small needles though, so I suspect they are either dwarf or slow growers.

I presume other big Tesco's will also have them, so it may be worth a look.

I'm told that the thing to do is to prune the roots and keep it pot-bound so it doesn't grow too big............
