"New" Tree for the W&L

Post by Narrow Minded » Sun Apr 10, 2011 10:53 pm

Talking to Pendo today about miniature trees, I remembered this recent addition, a type I've not tried before, Chamaecyparis obtusa NANA GRACILIS. Dwarf, dark green shell shaped sprays. Uneven conical habit. For rockery use. 10 year height 1 - 2ft.

I think it looks rather nice and with pruning should even improve, it certainly makes for something a bit different to my usual conifers.

Very nice. The MPLR have got a couple, they work very well, but you do have to keep on top of them as they have a habit of trying to spread outwards instead of upwards. Just lop bits off it from time to time to keep the shape.
