A good source of figures for you railway are the old tamiya pit crew figure sets. they are 1:20th scale as are as close as, and are plastic so easily adapted!

Heres what you get, I won 3 sets on ebay. these 2 sets cost me £11! a futher was bought via a Buy It Now for about £19
