Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
The well wagon looks great. It is nice when a railway has a function to perform.
Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
Ah! that lovely station building again with the inside framing in the waiting room, and I do like your delivery method for the shed. The last shot at ground level does it for me.
Glad you were able to enjoy the sunshine.
Grant.

Great photos Andrew. Like the photo of the tunnel, it was a good job the well wagon didn't sell, it would have been one heck of a job carrying it over the tunnel..

Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
Hello!
An afternoon in the garden saw some work done to bed the tunnel into its surroundings and prepare the site for the signalbox.
Three slate tiles were cemented in to create a sort of rock face/retaining wall in front of the line on the upper level, a base created for the 'box, and the beginnings of some planting added with a few alpines. Some slate chippings were sprinkled about to finish things off for now - I tend to use those early on to tidy the lineside up until nature takes over.
There's still more to do, but here's how it looks for now:
The yellow gauging van came into its own again to help position the tunnel, which is quite a tight fit in places.
Might run a train tomorrow, I think...
Cheers,
Andrew.

Give the Russell a run if you can, be good to see it running again.

What a transformation, all of your efforts have paid off and the effect is so satisfying, great work.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
The tunnel mouth definitely looks settled in now Andrew.

Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
Good evening!
Today I got a couple of coats of varnish on the signalbox, which completes the exterior, with the exception of glazing:
Time to complete the interior now, but I couldn't resist a couple of photos first!
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
You're making some good progress. The box looks very well in it's location.
Keep up the good work,
Andrew

Waited until you painted it Andrew before making a comment...
Wow what a fantastic job you have done mate, the time and patience you must have taken to paint the individual tiles was well worth it. You have got the colours of the tiles just right in my opinion, for what it's worth. Looking forward to seeing the interior when it's done.

Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
Very impressive, it does inspire to start building, just need to find the time.
Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
Nearly there now... The 'box is glazed, and most of the interior detailing bits and bobs are ready to go in:
Just a few last details to complete, but I think I'll leave The Inspector to discover those next week...
Cheers,
Andrew.

Great looking details, Andrew.

Those "bit and bobs" are an art form in themselves, very nice.

Hi Andrew,
A great collection of very appropriate 'stuff'. I love the plants, they are brilliant!

Glad you like the interior bits - I'm gradually gluing them in now, I'll post a picture once it's done.
Andrew, you may remember that I was agonising somewhat over what colour to paint my levers? In the end I used your advice and that article I shared to get it more or less right for my track layout (I hope!), but with the caveat that - since it's some years since the 'box was actually used for its intended function - the lever frame doesn't actually have to reflect the current arrangements... The perfect excuse!

Re: (WH)WHR Buildings
HI Andrew,
I'm glad it was useful information. I love the premise. And by the way, the frame looks really good. The box is going to be full of atmosphere when you've got all those bits in there. Provided there is a kettle and teapot that I've yet to see I wouldn't mind a turn in there myself!
All the best,
Andrew.

The paintwork's done, figures added, I've varnished and glazed it - I think it's done...

It's not quite to scale (I don't know of any drawings, so I scaled it up from photos and tweaked it to suit the windows), but I think it captures the essence of the old Welsh Highland architecture - Nantmor-or-less?!! It'll be stored until spring now, but I've already got more foam board etc on order for future projects. The buildings bug has bitten...
Thanks for the encouragement and advice along the way,
Andrew.
