Lovely to see more images of your line Grant. As always you have captured the 'real' nature of outdoor railway modelling, and you have such amazing light - I'm sure we rarely get light of that quality
One quick 'technical' question - what diameter dowel did you use for your telegraph poles? (I realise you have tapered them somewhat) The mass produced ones seem to have poles about 6mm in diameter, which is far too small scale wise. Given that telegraph poles in the UK are about 1 foot diameter, that suggests a dowel of about 16mm, but they look rather too chunky when I was considering installing some. Yours, however, look right. Any insight would be appreciated.

I used 1/2 inch diam. dowel about 12 inches out of the ground. Didn't worry about planing flats on some during the tapering either, as some real ones seem to be almost octagonal in cross section.

Superb atmosphere on your line. Captures rural narrow gauge to perfection. Reminds me of pendopilot's line that used to feature on this forum. I think he went over to the dark side.

Yes, really helpful re the telegraph poles,thanks. Good advice re the Bachmann poles too, but they don't seem to be available any more, and since there's probably only room for 6 poles at most on the appropriate parts of my line I'll probably build the lot from scratch. I might make a couple of spares to go on a flat wagon...

Wonderful images there Grant, everything which should be there, but no frills! The faded colours are superb in the dry and dusty environment. Keep 'em coming.

I was quite happy as I took the camera inside to download the pics. Wriggling the camera in through the side door
while keeping the viewfinder sticking outside to frame the shot, and obviously concentrating on the subject and not
the background.
This is the shot without the painted in background. Message to self. Look at everything in the viewfinder dummy.

Wow, that is some serious editing skill! Well done. Even knowing, I can't see the joins in the 'after' picture.

I quite like the original picture as well, the trailer suits the garage scene.
