A climbing frame project got in the way of railway time this weekend but managed 10 minutes of poor running that led me to decide I need to manage the level of under growth and hidden ballast movement. No real maintenance so far this year so who's to blame? A few shots of parked in the yard on a sunny Sunday.

Ted and Nipper stop unloading new packing crates to pose on the new loading dock.

A bit of treated pine, some hardwood chair posts and some steel tig rods that should rust. The dock serves the business end of the big house that is off scene in the neighbours garden. I finally found a use for the small nail gun I bought a few years back, spitting nails becomes addictive. Final height will go up with ballast.

Testing clearances after ballasting it seemed a shame not to take a picture. The sharp curve to the left goes to a sand works or some sort of works that needs tippers and a rusty hopper to load'em

Not my design I'm afraid. Dolls house 1/12 so slightly overcame but ok for me. I'm slowly cutting handles in the ends, adding weathering and Fairway Estate lettering with a cheap john Bull type printing set.

When I feel a little flush I top up with dolls house bits and add some crates to the order. This time it was Nipper, a thermos, a scythe and some tools.

Love your’e Loading Dock Derek, it doe’s look robust. And it will soon look weathered near that greenery.

Who cares if the packing case’s look oversize, they still work for me, has does Nipper, brilliant little addition mate. :thumb right:

Just wish I could get back to doing something myself, but there is stuff all over the new house….

I love the look of your railway, it's setting with all the planting and rocks creates the illusion of a working line very well.

A few shots of the new gate installed by Timmy this afternoon. He built the hinges by wrapping brass strip around a tig rod and soldering the tails. Hooks in the post from bent aluminium tig rod. The gate could do with some strapping at some point.
I'm a bit concerned about the slight upward lift of the rails but my circus.....

I also fitted the door to the shed at end of the line. My door suffers from inslidability (that confused spellchecker) due to bowing and I may, may, replace it with a steel door one day not soon. I also gave the roof a sprinkle of filings to see what muvva nature can do.

The siding and general mess in the second picture is the next job on the to do list.

I've been away too long! Your railway's changed scale, and is looking absolutely fantastic. I need to read the thread more fully, but a quick skim's rewarded me with pictures of characterful buildings (I must have a go at some myself...), and some lovely rolling stock. I do find the bucolic world of 7/8ths very tempting...

Have to say the only time I tried bean cans I ended up with a deep cut! They do look good though.

Thanks Andrew, not a patch on Windmill Hill I fell in love with 7/8th after Chris Bird posted some pictures of Rob Bennett's line. My track circuit is small and 45mm gauge so 16mm skips looked too broad gauge hence the switch. The fact you have to build almost everything is a bonus. I have mentally rewritten the lines history just need to get the words down.
