Vale of Fairway
Re: Vale of Fairway
Three for the price of onè, that will save building two more...need to solder up some brass corners to go over the joints and we're virtually there although need to weather those diagonals.

Re: Vale of Fairway
Another barn door build using the too short ends from the bogie build. I'm sure it will come useful for something at some point. All the bits in stock so I'll take it as a freebie .
Re: Vale of Fairway
I'm enjoying these wagons very much, they look just right...
Looking forward to seeing them in action on the line...
Andrew.

Re: Vale of Fairway
I think what you need is Tenmille's asbestos sheet for G1 - scales out about right for corrugated tin in 16mm. Hope I've got that right because I'm planning to buy some for a station build,,,tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 8:22 am I like the roof as well, what is it and does anyone supply plastic corrugated roof in 16mm scale?
Andrew.

If you search "asbestos" on the GRS website you'll find it - but they were out of stock last week!

Re: Vale of Fairway
Interesting pictures of those building sheets.
My Lincolnshire potato railways has provided pictures of a LIFU loco that appears to be a steam lorry. Fast steaming using paraffin on a hot surface. Not sure about a steam model but did wonder whether a diesel tractor/trailer could be interesting. I could keep it behind a barn door (with a corrugated roof)
As if I needed anymore projects

Great looking wagons
Re: Vale of Fairway
Hanging out the washing and I thought this light is too good to waste...Wish the track would auto Hoover.
If I had favourite spots, this might be it...

Just catching up Derek and boy that is some wagon you have built there.
I am very impressed, much better than I can do that’s for sure.

Re: Vale of Fairway
Hope you're ok Rod, I'll wrap those bits tomorrow, honest!
The wagon probably doesn't bear close inspection but does for me. If I can do it most others can, just a question of taking your time....most of my builds take time...

Re: Vale of Fairway
Fuschias removed it's a nicer spot now. The concrete pad was going to be a timber store but may be a brick barn. Glad I made Mrs B take a picture of that local barn....itsbeing painted black...even the bricks!
If I was Mick Jagger I would write a song...i see an old barn and I want it painted black...

Re: Vale of Fairway
The wagon and railway look good. One of my current projects is wagon building. I'm on prototype no 2 at the moment. No 1 never got finished, but I might revisit it in the future to see if I can get it to an acceptable standard.

Hear hear to that!
I can see why. Very bucolic - could easily be a scene on any number of ng light railways in days of yore.
