Love that split chimney breast, Peter. Another great looking building.

Thanks Rik but I'm not sure whether I should be correcting your spelling of millstone!

In the time it takes me to hang a door upside down another masterpiece arrives in West Wales. Accountants please says retired accountant and make'em Certified not Chartered!

I think you are showing a preference for accountancy over solicitor, I will try to think of a appropriate name, or perhaps you can offer something suitable?

I have just looked in our local telephone directory and found only one 'Chartered Certified' entry, every other being just chartered. What is the difference (to the layman?)

:D :king: :king: :king:

Chartered accountants see themselves better than Certified and Certified feel they are better Cost and management accountants who probably feel they are better than Public sector accountants.

Chartered and Certified appear in local towns as they can audit limited companies with the proper practising certificate.

At the end of the day all four are chartered associations so what's the difference and who cares? A sad profession although more enjoyable when I became treasurer of the local council as you spend more time managing than accounting. Something about finance and accountancy, at the County council we had a railway society where at least 50% came from Finance., one of whom was quite a notable modern image photographer.

I started in 1976 at Barnes and Turl Certified Accountants. One of the partners was a tweed wearing lab owner who was crusty as hell, got no pleasure from seeing her reprimanded by the Association in the recent past....karma

Let's agree to never talk about Accountancy again. :D

I like that Peter. A minor point, the surname is sometimes ( often, usually?) spelt PENNEY, I think. Makes it slightly more of a pun.

Like it,

Can you add muddy paw prints on the internal stairs from a wall eyed collie that always came with Farmer X - not saying which trainee had to sweep the stairs (Broom by name) :D

Get it laser printed on self-adhesve vinyl, that lasts longer than inkjet print with buckets of varnish

The building is now screeded with the usual quick drying cement and SBR mix ready for a spray coat to prepare the exposed plastic areas for painting......

Job done.....
looking back I see I started this build on Friday January 19th and posted the first images and description on Sat. 20th..... I can't imagine why it took me so long, but at last, it's finished!
The three are permanently fixed together and stretch 92cm., that's nearly as long as the kitchen table so my joint occupation here is now less welcome than in previous weeks.
Time to move it to my shed ready for installation......

Perhaps just one more smaller build before I vacate?

Superb paint job Peter. I do like the subtle discolouration of the accountants building round the lower walls and else where. The pink pub certainly fits right in.

With a row like that ( and they do look fabulous together) I would have thought a path/alley/snicket/ginnel/Welsh equivalent, at the ends to give rear access would be appropriate, especially with a pub in the middle?

Just thought, I know you've said about doing a church, but you really do also need a small village school and playground.
