Superb Tom, absolutely superb. That's a lovely bridge.

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Clever solution there. I can see now how you were planning to do it, a picture paints a 1000 words! I had some 45mm channel that always made me wonder it could be used in a similar fashion.
Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Great job on the bridge Tom, i love it.
Looking at some thing else though, when you were uncoupling your Silver Lady, i noticed the levers moving in the cab, is it not possible to put a little driver in there with a movable arm so it looks like he is moving it, or is that a stupid question and they don’t make one that would fit in the cab.
Love your layout though and this is now bookmarked.

The bridge is superb, the loco is superb, the running is superb. I think that is one of the best video's I've ever seen.
Well done Tom, fantastic, thank you.

I used this:

I don't see why you cannot use what you mentioned, my issue was getting the height right with my existing track level.

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
I have never seen a figure commercially available that does this but it does not mean it cannot be done although the cab in my SL is quite full already!FWLR wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 5:41 am Looking at some thing else though, when you were uncoupling your Silver Lady, i noticed the levers moving in the cab, is it not possible to put a little driver in there with a movable arm so it looks like he is moving it, or is that a stupid question and they don’t make one that would fit in the cab.

Superb control and slow running, Tom. As good (if not better) than a battery r/c model .....

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
I was on beer number erm when I filmed this and could not be arsed to set up the tripod so just followed the loco as it went. I am surprised my little line is of that much interest as I always feel like the underdog on here compared to what others achieve.
I do need to sort out my SL's paintwork soon as it is far too glossy, it really shows in my videos.
Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Great bridge install - the slow running really shows it off!
Where did I put that uncoupler?
Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Tom i think you really do have some great modelling skill’s, if you feel like an underdog, then i don’t know what i am feeling now, my skills are no were near that good, but i just do my best. I know i am not that good at building stuff, most of my N Gauge stuff is bodged, but i enjoy it.tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:38 am

A bit of a wash will tone down your paintwork Tom, a lot of weathering i have seen on other models, especially in my other gauge is well over the top.
Don’t under-estimate yourself Tom and please keep up the great work you do, i have took on board some of your brilliant ideas and work.

I like the water tower straddling the track.

Very nice! Don't do yourself down on the modelling skills. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and from what I have seen of what you have done you certainly have an innovative turn of mind, and that is very useful.
Cheers,
Peter in Va.
Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Thanks for the comments guys.
I don't know why but work went very slow today trying to box in the first part of the bridge so the gravel does not spill over everywhere:
Made up as I went along. The plastic angle had to be cut in various places to allow all my rolling stock through which took time.
The part that is not boxed in I need to think of something to cover it with, maybe some thin concrete or metal so it rusts?
The other side still to do!

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
I'd be looking to try sticking some of your ballast to the flat with SBR. I've done that sucessfully in a similar location at a bridge end.tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2017 5:04 pm

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Hi Tom,
That looks very neat and tidy. How about some thin plate with a bit of rivet detail to look like deck plates?
I'm really impressed with your line, it's another one of those inspiration sources that have kept me going during the early part of the construction of my own line

Both good ideas, thank you.
Andrew, if my little line has inspired you to produce your larger railway then I am humbled!
