One cold but sunny Sunday got the first coat of paint on the boxing in around the line:

Now matches the works which got tarted up mid summer along with the ironmongery:

I need to paint the platforms at both stations now I think as they look a bit grim.

Masonary paint should be fine but don't want it to look too new.

Any recommendations please?

Tom - if you are talking about the platform surfaces, I use DIY roofing felt - gives a nice quite fine tarmac type surface - depends what look you are after - others will have other ideas I'm sure - tried coffee stirrers earlier but warped and popped in places - although the goods platform has survived over year outside and that used the stirrer approach

That undercoat looks good, sweet sundae on top?

I mix my own grey masonry from a tub of white and a tub of black bought years ago. Lasted better on my concrete than the concrete

Using any colour masonry paint Tom to make it look old, i put as it is nearly dry, some old engine oil or sieved soil rubbed into the drying paint, makes it look old really quick. I would try it on a bit of concrete you don’t need and see how it looks for you 1st.

I bought myself an early birthday present and this evening put it together. The trouble with plastic models is mould lines but I have tried to file and hide them with textured paint:

The buffer stop plate is a piece of metal cut and bent into shape that will rust over time.

I need to add additional colours to weather but it looks better than the original gloss brown when received out the box as can be seen in the sleepers.

I should invest in a snowplough or somehow fit ploughs to the front and back of a loco on a temporary basis to clear the line.

Very nice Tom, good to see that low speed.
Needs a driver though, that big open cab looks awful empty.

I have the drivers I just need to find some time to install magnets to position them in the cab.
