my dad wants to use peco track.Matt wrote:What kind of track are you using? If that area is small, it's going to have some tight corners.
altho mamod would be cheaper, its not as good, and tenmille is just to expensive.
there was some 16mm rail for sale at a sale at gmes once, i regret not buying it, as things sell cheap at gmes. we got a lathe for £25!
the area it would take is about 40ft by 16ft, theres alot more space. but that cam be used in the future.

you hit the nail on the head.MuzTrem wrote:That's about the size of our garden, but you seem to have shoehorned a lot more track into it I'm guessing small, industrial locos and stock will be the order of the day then?andysleigh wrote:the area it would take is about 40ft by 16ft
the inner circuit is industrial. and the outer bigger circuit is the passenger railway.

I've not bought any track yet and due to time and cost considerations I think its going to take some time to do Andy's plan and anyway I expect that he will change the layout as we go along. I've said that I will buy a box of Peco SM32 track to start with and Andy can always earn some money to buy more !

,, dont worry mate, we dont have to leave space for the wheel barrow, the stuff that would go in the barrow can go by freight train.mhlr wrote:OK, Andy asked me on MSN to add to his sketch design, so he sent it to me, but I took this to my advantage to practise some designing. So here it is:
Andy tells me that he will use the design, but change some bits so it will fit in the area!!! I cocked that up!

What the one on the edge of the pond, spectating area side, and the one which is to the edge of the spectating area are at diffrent levels, it's just seems that for quite a large railway you leave a passing loop, then enter another.
Anyway I look forward to playing trains at Andy's house when it's finished.
