I thought you hadn't posted very much, recently, now we can see why. Very nice, looking forward to more as things progress.

Nice work, you've really captured the distinctive (and very attractive) look of those...

Looks great Rik. It's been a long while since I modelled in O-16.5 and back then 3D printers weren't a thing, so it's really interesting to see how good your prints are looking in 7mm scale!

Rik

Looking absolutely brilliant, great detail.

Would your files scale to 16mm scale? This is one that is high on my to do list

I'm more or less certain they will. I've not tried rescaling any of them as yet, but I can't see any reason why they can't.

I've still got a few more items of stock to draw; a couple of coach variations, a van, a slate wagon, a bolster wagon and I want to redo the mineral wagon which I downloaded from Thingiverse. I also want to draw the other d sign of loco, so I'm not yet ready to start rescaling what I've done so far. However, I'll happily post them in the 3D section if anyone fancies having a go in the meantime.

BTW - I wired up the loco this afternoon - a couple of li ion phone cells and a Deltang Rx65a. I decided I didn't fancy going back to track power. Seems to work ok.

I so much prefer remote control with the Deltang system, I plan to try doing this with one of my 009 locos when the round tuits finally arrive. I know other people have managed this (probably not with an Rx65 mind you!) but I will need to investigate small batteries!

I'll just drop this here..
But don't want to drift the thread:

I have problems with the little red worms.. So need to sort the drive on the loco, but there is room for the receiver and battery.. :?

Sorry Phil, for some reason I've only just seen this.
Is that an Rx45? Great to see a tiny Deltang installation. Not sure my eyesight and soldering would be capable of doing such a small scale conversion

An Rx41, so (ever so slightly) a different size..
The new glasses prescription is a great help!
Oh! And the (supposed) 0.4mm soldering iron bit. :ugeek

It's been a while - fitting a new kitchen and various family events have taken their toll - but the 0-16.5 GVT stock is nearing completion.
There is an 0-16.5 GVT mineral wagon on Thingiverse but I was disappointed with it and so drew my own version which is a slight variant on the other design.

They are a lot fiddlier to construct and paint than 16mm or 15mm scale models!! I am in the process of converting them all to 16mm scale and will upload them here in due course - but rescaling is a bit more complicated than it might appear. Things sometimes go a bit strange when they are rescaled.

Looking good Rik.
Looking forward to seeing the alyout in due course.
I've looked at drawing up an SM32 version of the loco, several times, but never quite got around to it. So it will be interesting to see your running one day.

Hi Rik,
I have just seen your file for the GVT mineral in 45mm gauge and so will be having a go at this. I have tried altering the Binnie one to 45mm but it doesnt quite work. Thank you for uploading this file. I will also be interested in the GVT coaches.

Hi John
I've rescaled the coaches but not had a chance to test print them yet. Not had a chance to rescale the loco yet.

Once I've test printed(to double check that all the parts for together (mostly it's to check the wheels fit ok), I'll upload them here.

I've uploaded all the 7mm files to Thingiverse. I assumed there wouldn't be much call for them on here

The main problem with rescaling is that the walls are 4 x thicker than the original (assuming a start of 4mm scale), which is not only wasteful, but also expensive and time consuming.

I thought of rescaling some of the item you have in this thread a while back, but gave up, soon realizing that the best way to do it was to completely reCAD them from scratch and that, I simply do not have time to do at the moment. Besides, I am working on my own vacuum-less, vacuum cleaner to keep things tidy, we shall see how that goes :?: :ugeek :dontknow:
