the train stops at one and then switches to reverse and then does the same again and again.

the north avenue railway .is a line that has fallen on hard times this is why iv made everything look old and worn out. most of the industry's that once flushed on the railway have gone. and maintenance hasn't been kept up with in recent years. one last tired loco runs at present taking on what ever loads it can .a lot of the lines scrap that litters the line is from the old coal mine and is now waiting to be taken to the scrap merchant .

Gives a whole new perspective to 'landscaping' - really convincing. After all, the majority of narrow gauge railways in this country were originally industrial. Is the new section going to be rural or industrial?

That's looking great, full of character... It reminds me of the Silvertown Tramway in east London, which I vaguely remember from what must have been its dying days, with rusty rolling stock on rusty sidings. I think it linked the Tate and Lyle sugar refinery and various scrapyards with the mainline... Anyway, your line is very atmospheric, thanks for the photos.

I particularly like the ballasting and ground cover, very convincing, I'd be interested to know how you've achieved the effect...

Cheers,

Andrew

Lovely stuff there Jim - looking very industrial and 'Compton Down-ish' Do we have a new Peter Jones in our midst? Will it grow like topsy, and take over the whole garden?
