Portable layout pictures/ideas

Post by JMORG » Sun Feb 18, 2018 1:43 pm

Hi everyone,
The Gloucestershire 16mm group are potentially looking into making a replacement layout for our current (ancient) layout.
We are planning on a meeting in the future, but in the mean time has anyone got any pictures of theirs? The general idea is to showcase the concept of narrow gauge so a very basic interchange might be added to showcase the size difference's, scenery will probably be inspired by the 1920's Col. Stephens light railway examples (such as the Welsh Highland).

One debated idea is about double or single track. I propose single track as being more prototypical and easier to manage but others want double to rid boredom, although it would mean a minimum of 4 people operating/prepping at all times. What does everyone else think?

Thoughts and pictures from the forum are needed!
