Love your shed Julie :love10:, and those cottages are excellent, I keep asking Anne to look for bargains in charity shops, but no luck just yet... :thumbright:

Lovely shed. now you will be able to run trains, enjoy your modelling AND escape the worst of the Welsh weather.

Love the progress and the little buildings Julie. Love the topic title as well. I was kind of thinking along the same name as my one live steamer is a Merlin Mayflower. I just haven't found a castle that can withstand being outdoors in the weather year round here in the states. My Mayflower is named Smaug after the fire breathing dragon in the Hobbit book. Hi, It’s been a while since I have posted anything, but update on the shed is it is nearly finished. Insulation and boarding done. Today however I was well excited as I had a lovely surprise. Peter Butler called and he had made a hatch for the shed that would let the trains enter and exit, also a turntable. Thank you so much Peter, It was like Christmas again. .

Tried to post pics, but having problems. :(

Hi Mike, hope you manage to build your castle. I am going to try and build one in the summer hopefully. If we get one

It's a pleasure to help Julie.... it shouldn't be long before trains are running at this rate.

I use a tablet (badly as Tom will vouch) but I have downloaded an app called pixlr that allows me to resize for posting....even I could do it.

Well your model making makes up for it

I have recommended previously in the help section to use an app called Snapseed.

This is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Thanks for the information with the apps, I will look them up.

I have been pressing loads of buttons and changed settings so I will try to post some pics again. No not happening. saying file is too large even on 1 photo.
So strange tho, being as I posted all the other pics.

Hopefully by next week the track will be up in the shed. :D

I can sympathise with Julie on the subject of posting photos. Over the years I have posted a few pics on this and other fora but since Photobucket went all precious I have not found a file sharing site I'm happy with. I can't seem to just post a photo without providing a link to every photo I have posted on the site, and I cannot seem to post photos direct to a forum without the aid of a file sharing site.

I don't wish to invade Julie's thread with unrelated topics but it seemed an appropriate point to mention that it seems to be a common problem.

Julie is still trying to sort out her picture posting problem and has sent me the image to test her equipment. The image size shows as 84kb which should be nowhere near the Forum limit.
Here is the box unit attached to the side of her shed. It is gently angled to allow trains to exit from the front and has a lift-up flap with brush draught excluder strip at the bottom.....

The view from the inside shows the installation and possibly explains the purpose better than my words....

A shelf will be built to receive incoming trains after the wall has been insulated and lined.

I hope Julie will be able to post pictures soon to show progress.

Not to go off topic but I simply resize my photos to 600x400 pixels (using Paint), then "add files" to the forum using the "attachments" tab below this dialogue section and placing them inline where needed. No need for off-site photo hosting. The caveat is that I also donate $$ annually to help keep the forum running. :)

Hi Peter,

Apologies, you will need to edit that post with the pictures as I tried to do some maintenance earlier to the forum and it went wrong so I had to restore from a backup that does not have the most recent images posted.

Thanks Tom... I have added the images to the post with a short explanation.

Same here Dwayne, though using Irfanview. I find picture loading couldn't be simpler and I'm certainly no computer whiz. The caveat is an important point too.

While Julie is continuing to suffer with photo posting issues she has sent me pictures of the latest installation work inside her shed.
The two of them have certainly been busy pasting huge murals on walls as back scenes and fitting shelving to act as baseboards for their railways.... Dennis has '00' scale as well as assisting with Julie's 16mm.

If she needs help posting pictures I can help, however, the issues are not with the forum.
