Re: Merlins Castle Line
Hoping now that it keeps dry for another week so that it can be all up and running. Then it will be deciding how to arrange the centre, have a few ideas in mind tho. I can't believe how quickly it is coming together now.

Re: Merlins Castle Line
Great progress there Julie. You are facing the challenges of a steeply sloping site head on. You may have a brief pause in construction, as the weather forecast is talking of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms heading for Wales and SW England.

Re: Merlins Castle Line
At last we have had some rain here, just enough to wet the baked ground but welcome nonetheless. I think we were on the edge of a thunderstorm as a momentary power-cut occurred early afternoon.
I know it will not put Julie off her work programme as she is now determined to press on with her railway.

Just managed to paint the woodwork with preserver before the rain came, lucky it had dried first and the rain wasn't heavy.

What a beautiful location!
The bones are coming together very nicely. It's not often you see modellers using a chainsaw in the furtherance of their projects!

Re: Merlins Castle Line
That is looking good and apart from the battery drills it looks a very peaceful spot to live.

I am so lucky to be living in this beautiful spot, in this weather it is great. Winter is very different heavy winds and heavy rain. But we stay indoors as much as possible then, or this winter in the shed.

Re: Merlins Castle Line
You have those chaps trained well Julie, I had to build my railway alone!
It looks like it is coming together, looking forward to the finished product.

No training involved Tom, just great company and ample supplies of food, drinks and, most important of all, friendship!tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Sat Jul 07, 2018 6:37 pm You have those chaps trained well Julie, I had to build my railway alone!
The location is a dream world, well off the main roads and set in glorious surroundings with no background noises to disturb the mind.
I think even you Tom would have a different view of Wales if you visited this area!

Some serious woodworking skills going on there…
If the structure can take the weight of those guys, who knows what you can run on it.
Brilliant I love it. The shed looks ok to me Julie.

Who's lurking under the railway in the first picture? Can't work out if it's a dog or a cat?

She is one of a pair of Welsh Terriers, lovely, lively, friendly dogs with loads of energy. Railway installation consisted of fit one length of track, throw the ball... etc...

Re: Merlins Castle Line
That's a very impressive railway and it's all come together nicely. It will give you many hours of pleasure and repay the effort many times over.
