Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
Double track, build two loops so you can run two trains on their own lines.
Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
Ermmmm I don’t think the (CEO) Anne would like that, but I do have half of it built already don’t I...... :thumb right: :thumb right: Might just drop it in conversation....

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway ( Update )
Has promised some photo’s of the stepping stones for the garden, I was going to lay them side by side, as they are advertised by Homebase has railway sleepers, but I got these cheap from a store in Southport that is closing down, only £3.48 each...I think they will be ok, they are rubber, so hopefully no slipping issues.....

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
If those are made for the job they should be much safer in use than timber. The enhanced grain pattern will help with grip.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway (Update Rolling Stock Box )
A few photo’s of my promised Rolling Stock Box, the last photo has a divider in it, not sure wether to go with it or not.
The boxes are sealed with Teak Oil.
Total cost with one board of 405cm x 810cm, (i had all the rest) was £10.00.
Going to a one day show on Saturday in Southport, so I will see what kind of response I get, I will be making some more for my other stock...they do keep all the dust and other stuff of them...

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
They look rather good. I need to think about doing something similar for my stock as I am rapidly going off using plastic crates and bubble wrap. It seem that no matter how careful you are things still get damaged.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!

What?.... Grass but no ballast! What is the world coming to?

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
They look good. Agree with Jim, I need to do something here, storing tippers 3 high on top of each other is a disaster waiting to happen.

Re:(Another UpDate) Fairy Wood Light Railway
After forgetting to ballast the track on the Rolling Stock Box and feeling a bit better after my little setback with my health, i have finally finished the box with some ballast and a little bit of an update on the sides of the divider and side walls of the box.
Looks better i think, when i can get to the shed, i will paint the stops on the track a dirty brown to try and make them look like wooden planks hopefully.........

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
Got my health a bit more under control, so I am back hopefully to the line. Not done too much though, apart from buying this,
It does have a little solar powered LED inside and the blades do rotate, pretty fast at time’s.
Not much I know but I have got the shed to sort out first, then it’s back to doing more.

Re: Fairy Wood Light Railway
If you paint the blades on the windmill I reckon that's a convincing looking mill.

Had two of the grandkids round on Sunday and the Grandson George ran “Patricia Anne” for the 1st time, he did a brilliant job and drove her sat down looking so cool. My Granddaughter Beatrice did have ago along the straight by my garage with my help of course. She loved it, the look on her face…
The chip of paint on the dome was my fault after I tried to take it off while it was very hot, has you can imagine some appropriate words were said and it fell on to the flags from a great height.
