family day at the Great Cockcrow

Post by bessytractor » Fri Jul 16, 2010 6:12 pm

it was realised that at the GCR all we do every Sunday is shift lots of people to make money.  To counter this we had a day where we let the family and friends of members have a play.  I used this as a good excuse to get my Toby Tram out and properly drive it as I hadn't had a proper go since building it two years ago!  People learned not to ask me to get a freight train out, my idea of a "nice easy to pull train" is everything I can find in the shed   .  I also learned that going as fast as I can on a freight train "to see how she behaves" made for a rough, but exciting ride!

I got 5000 in steam for her owner, and roared round on her a couple of times to make sure she wouldn't embarrass me and then spent the rest of the day letting other people drive Toby

all in all it was a good day, and didn't rain. It did that this week at work
