Quordle
Quordle
I don't know if anyone here does Quordle. One of today's words was almost impossible and certainly not a spelling I've ever come across. The only way I got it was to eliminate every other possibility and then put in a few plausible "nonsense" words with until the right one came up.

Re: Quordle
The word was EMCEE - ie based on MC (Master of Ceremonies)
Certainly a new one on me - and to my mind a non-word like VEEP (which using the same rule ought to be VEEPEE. What next, EMPEE, PEE-EM, BEEBEECEE - or how about PEE-ELLAR?

Re: Quordle
I'd never heard of Quordle until your post yesterday. I asked SWMBO, who is heavily into word games, but although she had heard of it she had never seen it. She did say however that the games are generally getting more and more American spellings as opposed to proper English spellings, which can make things very difficult. I guess your emcee is a similar problem.

Re: Quordle
Yes indeed - one of today's words was RIGOR ......
I don't think I'm giving away an answer as it seems no one on here does Quordle.

Re: Quordle
I do Octordle daily. The occasional US spelling crops up there too, but they haven't stooped so low as Emcee. Yet...

Re: Quordle
I'm a Quordler!
I think I only guessed "Emcee" because I'd overheard that it was an unusual one earlier in the day... I don't like overhearing anything - my mother once told me I "might get the Wordle in one", so I felt obliged not to use my usual starting word, "train". It was "train" that day, of course...
My wife does the Duotrigordle too - 32 words. I did it once, and it's almost a completely different game. I daren't get into it, cos I'd never get round to making any models...
