Spent the morning over at the sugar cane railway in the Botanical Gardens as part of the "Navvies" crew, digging post holes to take the new crossing signs next to the pedestrian crossings, the old signs do not comply with Aust standards anymore.
They were identified for replacement after a safety audit was conducted and sent to the Office National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR). This body enforces the Rail Safety Act and oversees all railways in Australia, basically, if it moves on rails, they oversee it and all the people who work on them.
I drove the diesel loco towing the car carrying the concrete mix and the signs and added 4 hours to my logbook.
The other piece of equipment is the "trolley and trailer" which have the tools on them.
New sign replaces the cross-arm ones seen in background of third picture

Lovely pictures of a beautiful location. Everything looks to be immaculate, even the grass is manicured to perfection.... not to be found on Welsh railways!
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
