I know some on here are really into their early live steamers, so wondered if what I stumbled across on eBay might be of interest.....

Early Archangel loco for sale
Re: Early Archangel loco for sale
Not one for me, but very nice!
It's not a Brick, but Princess (Prince's sister), a Ffestiniog "England" in an early (pre-saddle tank) guise. She should have a tender, don't know if the Archangel model did.
Here's the orginal Brick - https://www.16mm.org.uk/resources/drawings/locomotives/. Archangel's model was based on that, but I think it was stretched until it was considerably overscale for 16mm. I owned a secondhand one, briefly, as a teenager, but couldn't get the thing to steam - the aesthetics didn't do much for me either. I like Princess very much though...

The link below is an Archangel 'Brick', about as minimalist a working steam model as you will find in the garden scales.ge_rik wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 11:06 am

There's an Archangel 'Princess' on there as well. Live steam loco design has come a long way in the last 35 or so years........
