Certificate for this forum

Post by FWLR » Tue Nov 24, 2020 9:42 am

This morning while looking at my notifications from the forum, the first email I tried to open said that this site has an expired Certificate. It has been expired for one day. I had to allow it so I can view the forum.

Has anyone else had the same problem.....

I did however get to view Dazza's thread from an email, but then when I went back to try again it said the same has all the rest....

I "believe" this is down to the hosting company and the migration that will be taking place shortly. In the meantime we can only apologise for the problem. I have tried raising it as an issue with them but at this time they insist it's down to Tom to contact them about the issue, I have PM'd Tom, but as soon as he goes to logon he will be aware of the issue anyway.

A new certificate has been paid for, but can not be issued until the migration is complete, again, hopefully this will be fixed asap.

Thanks Steve,

Very prompt reply.

It's not a problem, it was a bit worrying when my MacBook said it could be impersonating the site and could be stealing information to obtain credit details.

Not that they would have much luck with mine.....

I had the same problem this morning and, being completely useless when it comes to computers, asked for help from Rod. Together we managed to get back on-line, although only on 'Firefox, and 'Edge' at first. My usual entry is via 'Chrome' which refused to cooperate and has only now been opened via the link from Steve.
So a hearty Thank you to both.

OK, an update for everyone/

The migration of the forum has been completed, the domain transferred, the control panel access transferred and the forum itself also transferred.

To do this we have had to purchase the hosting and the SSL certificate, which has also now been issued and put in place. There will be one or two minor "blips" over the net couple of days until we iron out all the things that need ironing out :D

I do apologise for any in convenience caused today or over the next couple of days while I sort things out with the hosting company.

In the meantime if you have any issues please use the link below to ensure security until it's all streamlined again.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Again this morning I had to allow access from my laptop.

This is what it shows.

The first one is a pop up saying I can't access the site.

The second one asks to accept.

.

The first email notification this morning was from Tom_to_go, but it didn't even show these popups. I was panicking I can tell you mate...

It seems I may have to do this everyday until it settles down. I have clicked on the link you have put in the thread. Hopefully that should work... :thumbright:

Hi Rod

I am aware that certain DNS servers have not updated yet, including my own which is the BT DNS servers. For now I have just manually put google dns servers onto my client, but I would not recommend this as the way forwards for anyone else, it should all sort itself out, hopefully by the end of the day.
