I do sympathise with you Jim, once there is a food source, your neighbour's pet food supply in this case, they will continue to visit, and worst of all, breed!
We have a few rats dropping in from time to time following a stream which runs through our land. They're attracted by the wild bird feeders which hang over the water and have made holes in the banks there..... remember, they can dig. At least I know where they are and can keep them under control..... I have shot two this week!
I still believe your neighbour should be made aware of your concerns, particularly for the sake of your daughter.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
