Re: What do you do when you're waiting for the train?
I think I can say for most British people we moan when waiting for a train (as they are normally late)...

Can't beat a good book I reckon...
I recently visited the Dartmouth line and travelled behind the visiting King class. I'd got there early and I sat reading a 1934 edition of E H Young's "Miss Mole" as I awaited departure time - just four years younger than the loco itself, which felt just right...

One of our great railway people, Barry Brickell, travelled a lot of the NZR towards the end of steam in slow mixed freight trains. Often with him as the only passenger in the only carriage. He'd have a brew up with his Primus as the train made its slow progress, what a lovely time
Best wishes,

Should have put the boiled kettle water in your loco Dave….Only joking…
I always have a good brew while waiting for my Billy to steam…
